Res-Q 1250 & How I Foiled Heart Disease.

My Doctor was surprised when I refused the medication, but was pleased when my triglycerides fell by 300 points in only 2 months! High-potency Omega-3s can change your life! Here’s how I did it:

“Omega-3s saved my life! Now my friends call me the Omega-3 Man!”

In June 2005, I received bad news from my doctor. My triglycerides were in the RED ZONE - “High Risk” for stroke. Ambulance sirens went off in my head! “508″ was the count to be exact. “508″ became my magic number. In life, sometimes there are little keys given to you that unlock big doors. “508″ was a little key for me that opened a big door exposing a problem that I had neglected for 15 years.

Once a person hits “500″, then you might as well take a red marker and write “HIGH RISK” (for heart disease) across your forehead! My LDLs were high and the HDLs were low. Ratios were terrible. The doctor prescribed some pharmaceuticals but I wasn’t buying. When you read about all the dangerous, Nasty side effects of statin drugs, you will understand why. I hadn’t taken an antibiotic in 30 years. This was not the time to start going pharmaceutical.

I was about 15 lbs overweight, had that spare tire growing around the mid-section. My liver was not in good shape from a bout of hepatitis I contracted while on a mission in India in 1976. An ultrasound was ordered. Results show I have a “fatty” liver! Enough was enough. The time for change had come!

What is your magic number? What is your little key that is going to unlock your big door? This was my motivation to make significant changes in my life and in my health regimen!

Wake Up Call and Commitment

This time became a “wake up call” knowing that I had to make some drastic changes in my life if I was ever going to get back in shape and take charge of my life, instead of letting Health challenges ruin me. I joined a gym and found out they offered classes for free and I made some commitments.

Think about this: A personal trainer can run you $50 - $75 an hour, maybe you can afford that, maybe not. If you join a Gym, and take advantage of the free classes such as Yoga, Body Flow, Body Pump, RPM (cycling), etc., then you can get “personal” instruction included in the price of the membership. Most of the classes I take have 3 to 8 people in attendance. Not only do I get “personal” instruction, I have the added benefit of the support and chemistry involved in a group activity.

Let’s do the math: I take on average 3-4 free classes a week (there are literally 40 hours of group classes scheduled) and my membership costs $40 a month. That works out to about $2.87 per class hour. This of course doesn’t take into account the many of hours that the gym is open with over one million dollars in various workout equipment if I choose to use it. If I do a measley two hours a week in the gym using all this great equipment then my fee per hour reduces to under $1.80. There is some unique value there. But you say, “what if I don’t go?” Well, that’s where you gotta have some committment.

Conquering Oneself!

I decided I was willing to do what’s hard. I decided to act in spite of my fears. I committed that I was bigger than any obstacle and that I would never give up. These were powerful commitments. No one said it’s easy but complicated it is not.

The philosophy of the “Enlightened Warrior” became my creed. A warrior by definition is one who goes about “to conquer.” An Enlightened Warrior is one who seeks to “conquer oneself.” How tough is that?

Here’s a challenge: Try Yoga! You will learn a lot about conquering yourself! Of all exercise routines, yoga is my favorite. I have a great teacher and I come away from a one hour yoga class, exercised to be sure, but feeling refreshed and centered. There are many men taking yoga today and it’s a great place to meet women, so there is not enough good to be said about signing up for a yoga class!

Omega-3s to the Rescue! Will the first sign of heart disease be sudden death?

I heard about Omega-3s on the radio and figured this was the time to put up or shut up. I called in and ordered a 3 month supply. Was it hard to shell out the money? Was my “penny-wise mental blueprint” going to allow me to risk a debilitating stroke? How much did I want to pay the doctors and hospitals? Thousands? That would be the ultimate in being penny-wise pound foolish! For a lot of people, the first symptom of heart disease is a heart attack! A full 50% of those end in a medical condition known as “sudden death”. Did I really want to suffer a heart attack or was I going to stop being chintzy and playing around with my health and my heart?

After 3 months of taking Omega-3s, I went for a retest. My triglycerides were down to 200! -A drop of 308 points. I lost 15 lbs. Healthy “good oils” and going to the gym can help you lose weight! I lost 3 inches off my waist and pant size. I became a believer. I am honestly telling you my story of what I did to improve my health which included not being a slouch, getting my body moving, and eating sensibly.

I recently read a Harvard Medical Journal on the centurion studies going on around the world. The common key ingredient for those who are living to 100 is that they move their bodies, and keep their minds active. So think about it. Here’s a formula: 1. Eat sensibly 2. Move your body 3.take plenty of Omega-3s.

Do something good for yourself!

I can tell you from firsthand experience that Omega-3s do a lot more than help keep your heart health in check. Dr Ray Crayhon says, “Omega-3s are not in your brain, they are your brain!” It’s not conclusive but he and many, many other researchers now believe that sufficient dosing of Omega-3s daily may prevent Alzheimer’s Disease. “It is your brain!” Dosing with Omega-3s helps me to think better, and feel better. No matter if you eat fish or not, this is a sure way of getting a quality source of Omega-3s daily. No worries about toxicity associated with statin drugs OR worrying about the mercury content of the fish you may purchase from the market.

The best thing one can do with one’s life is be involved with something you are passionate about. Maybe I will be on TV one day telling my story! It’s a simple story, it’s true and I hope you can take advantage of my lesson and improve your health.

In my opinion and that of millions of others is that there is a huge gaping hole in the nutrition consumed in the United States. It begins with deficiencies in Omega-3s. Omega-3s are called Essential Fatty Acids. No, these do not make you fat. You actually lose weight by reducing Omega-6s (regular vegetable based cooking oil) with Omega-3s. Understand Omega-3s are basic cellular building blocks. Taking one or two capsules a day is good but not enough. We don’t take one or two bites of food a day and say, “We’re done!”

We eat for sufficiency and then we eat for pleasure! So with Omega-3s, eat for sufficiency to cure the deficiency. Omega-3s are a natural anti-inflammatory and also act to thin the blood and keep the arteries clear. By doing so, you are be part of what a Harvard trained cardiologist called “the startling effect of Omega-3s” - it’s ability to prevent “sudden death” heart attacks and stroke.

Last point: Not all “Omega-3s” are created equal. Omega-3s is a premium, high potency, high quality product that is produced under strict GMP guidelines. It’s the real deal. This is not a capsule of “fish parts.” The same cannot be said for run of the mill oils purchased off the store shelves. One must know and trust the source. With Omega-3s you can be sure you are taking the best! Very cheap Omega-3s will have about 300mgs of Omega-3s in a 1000mg capsule.
